Love is air
It is all around me.
It's something I can't see,
But without it I die.
But love is not bread
I would die from hunger
If there's only love.
I always need something else to survive.
I would die from hunger
If there's only love.
I always need something else to survive.
Love is ink
The ones I love pour their traces
Onto my heart.
Once written, it can never be fully removed.
But love is not a story
I can never predict what's going to happen
Happy ever after or a sad ending,
I never get to be the author.
Love is the warmth
Brought by a beautiful burst of fire
But love is also the scars all over me,
If I get too close to the roaring fire.
Love is amazing,
But it's dangerous.
Love is hard,
But I've always wanted to try.

I totally agree with the "Love is ink but not a story" part. True love is never shallow and easy to forget. Once I love someone, it is very unlikely that I will forget him, even when that palpitating feeling for him is gone. Also, love is the interaction between two people, so neither of us can decide what is the final scene of our story.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I'd say your poem is quite unique but I have to disagree with one point. You will "always" be the author since it's your life, and you're running it. However, that's just my opinion, great job! :)
ReplyDeleteI like your perspective on love. I agree with you that love is always present and that we need it in life. I enjoyed reading this because it provided me with images that represented what love is.
ReplyDeleteWell done :D

I really like your comparisons of love.
ReplyDeleteAlso the second last stanza really stands out. Love can be comforting but it can also hurt you and it leaves scars all over you.
This poem left me thinking for a while. It's a great poem. :D
I really like this poem. (: I was going to say the exactly same point as Kethy about not being the author as I think that you are the author of your own life! Other than that, I really like the stanza about the fire. Good job!
ReplyDelete"Love is hard,

Yes,you have to try and forget that man from your heart.
Unique, original, and deep. Simply well written. Very good. Very good.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you described love as food. That's vivid and creative. You also made a contrast on "love in warmth". In addition, nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteI love Ivy's attitude toward love. No matter the love is good or not. you should try it and enjoy it
ReplyDeleteYour poem is very interesting. At times it can be really dark but then it shines through. Good job!

Very interesting poems- I like the fact that you described love as a fire- dangerous yet mesmerizing in a manner that we humans can not help but be drawn too. :) good job.
